Chicago Bulls celebrate "Health and Wellness Night" with Bright Pink at game on January 13

The Chicago Bulls are celebrating the first “Health & Wellness Night” at their game vs. Washington Wizards on Monday, January 13. Through a number of pre-game and in-game activities, the Bulls will recognize their community partners that focus on programming promoting a healthy lifestyle. Health & Wellness Night also coincides with the Bulls’ participation in NBA FIT Live Healthy Week.

The Bulls will welcome staff and volunteers from Bright Pink to the game as representatives of the team’s community partners that focus on health and wellness. Bright Pink is the only national non-profit focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women, while providing support for high-risk individuals. Their life-saving education and support programs educate, equip and empower young women to be proactive with their breast and ovarian health. Bright Pink volunteers will be on the concourse on Monday, providing fans with information on breast and ovarian health.

“The Bulls organization always looks for opportunities to encourage our fans to live healthy and active lifestyles,” said Nancy Reinsdorf, President of Chicago Bulls Charities. “The Bulls are proud to work with organizations like Bright Pink that are so passionate about the health of Chicagoans and to celebrate these partners during Health & Wellness Night.”

The Chicago Bulls support Bright Pink through a number of events and initiatives throughout the year. In 2014, the Bulls and Bright Pink will pilot an educational initiative to help women in Chicago’s underserved communities.

“As we kick off the new year and close out NBA Fit Week, we're honored to be part of this beautiful opportunity for women in the Chicago community to commit to being proactive with their breast health,” said Lindsay Avner, Founder and CEO of Bright Pink. “We're grateful to have the support of the entire Bulls organization and to see the dedication of this world-class brand to bettering the lives of their fans and local community.”

Bright Pink is one of a number of local nonprofit organizations promoting healthy living that the Bulls support through the team’s community relations efforts and Chicago Bulls Charities.

Health & Wellness Night is the second in a series of three Signature Nights that will be held during the regular season to celebrate the Chicago Bulls’ areas of charitable focus. The Bulls celebrated “Youth Education Night” at the November 18, 2013 game vs. Charlotte Bobcats, and “Violence Prevention Night” is scheduled for the March 31 game vs. Boston Celtics.
