Chicago Bulls host "Bulls Spectacular" party with Ronald McDonald House families
March 26, 2013 -- The Chicago Bulls hosted a “Bulls Spectacular” party on Monday with more than 50 families currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House near Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Carlos Boozer, Nazr Mohammed, Bob Love, Benny the Bull and members of the Luvabulls joined the families in a variety of activities including an arts and crafts project, video games, photo booth, balloon artist, and face painter, among others. The team also raffled off Bulls memorabilia for some lucky children, and dinner was provided for all of the families.
Over the past 10 years, the Bulls have partnered with Ronald McDonald House on a number of initiatives, including coordinating player visits to Houses, partnering on a recycling program, participating in their annual golf tournament and supporting their fundraising efforts through the donation of autographed items.
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is to improve the health, well-being and education of children. The Ronald McDonald Houses of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana provide a “home away from home” to keep families together while their child is receiving medical treatment far from home. The Houses provide comfortable and private rooms, opportunities to bond with other families going through similar situations, and delicious meals prepared by giving volunteers for a suggested donation of $10 per night.
