Chicago Bulls launch new mobile app

App latest addition to suite of digital tools designed to enhance fan experience

January 2, 2014 -- The Chicago Bulls today launched the team’s first mobile app, the newest product in a growing suite of digital tools designed to enhance the Bulls fan experience. The new mobile app, along with Bulls Game Day, mobile livestream, and new-look schedule, will allow fans to have unprecedented access to the team anywhere and at anytime.

The mobile app is available now for free download at the Apple app store and Google Play. The app is available for iPhone and Android smartphones, as well as tablets, and gives fans instant access to the latest Bulls news and information. Presented by AT&T, the app will provide fans with team news, schedule information, game tracking, and the latest content from Sam Smith and BullsTV. Fans will also be able to customize push notifications and purchase tickets through the app.

Earlier this season, the Bulls launched Bulls Game Day, a dynamic web-based summary of all things game-related. Throughout the day the game-specific web page is loaded with team statistics and previews with relevant news added up to tip off. When the game begins, Game Day comes alive with realtime score updates, live box scores with player and team stats, BullsTV video, a play-by-play account of all the action, team shot charts and Tweets pulled in from Bulls fans all over the world. Following the game, recap video from BullsTV and Sam Smith’s analysis are added.

Built in-house, Bulls Game Day was developed with a responsive web design that formats perfectly on desktop, tablet or smartphone screens. Fans can visit Bulls.com/gameday for a second-screen experience or to keep up with the action when they’re away.

This season the Bulls also introduced mobile video streaming for BMO Harris Bank Pregame Live, the team’s pregame show. The Bulls partnered with the NBA and Livestream to make live video streaming mobile-friendly, allowing fans to watch the show from tablets and smartphones. In addition to the live pregame show, which airs 30 minutes prior to every home game, the Bulls will stream several news events live throughout the season including major press conferences.

Bulls.com’s schedule page, one of the most heavily visited pages on the web site, has undergone a design enhancement this season. The page includes all relevant game information for the whole season including game dates, times, upcoming opponents, local and national broadcast information, standings, statistical leaders, calendar alerts, ticket purchase links and promotional giveaways for home games, and United Airlines flight links for away games. The information is presented in a clean layout that fits well on desktop or mobile web browsers. In addition to all the important upcoming game information, results from previous games can be found on the same page. The redesigned schedule can be found at Bulls.com/schedule.
