The Celtics dominated the visiting Lakers from end-to-end on Thursday night and secured a convincing 116-95 victory thanks to a 52.9 percent shooting performance. Boston was electric on offense but was also humming on the other end of the floor as it held Los Angeles to just 41.4 percent shooting from the field.
Paul Pierce poured in a team-high 24 points to go with seven boards and six assists. Kevin Garnett became the 16th player in NBA history to have scored 25,000 career points (25,009) with his 15-point, five-rebound performance.
