By Jon Loomer

I went out on a limb last week and predicted that a winless celeb would top an undefeated celeb. I was right -- as I tend to be in my infinite wisdom. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong match-up. Spike Lee did me wrong, failing to come through against Zach Gilford, the last undefeated team left standing. Gilford again gets the longer half of the lucky stick considering he had the third fewest points but faced off against the team with the second least points. Samuel L. Jackson's team, however, did topple a previously undefeated team, as he knocked off Tony Potts in a 952.84 to 828.96 barn burner. That leaves us with one undefeated (Gilford) and one winless team (Spike).

Not surprisingly, my predictions generally stunk last week. Not only did I get these two games wrong, but I missed on two other match-ups, giving me a 2-4 record. I'm just here for entertainment, folks. I sure better be entertaining.

A slew of roster moves were made at the 11/23 waiver deadline. Bill Simmons added Andray Blatche (I thought Bill wasn't making any moves?), Spike Lee added Sean Williams and Samuel L. Jackson added Antonio Daniels, highlighting a few of the moves. Plenty of positioning continues to go on in this league. We'll see if the latest moves affect this week's match-ups.

This week's match-ups? Did someone say "this week's match-ups?" Oh, right. I did. Let's get at it, starting with the teams at the top.

Zach Gilford vs. Donald Faison
Gilford's team is littered with injuries, but most are inconsequential and he has Luol Deng back in the lineup. Faison, on the other hand, is at full strength and goes into today with a six game advantage (Gilford has only two games from Deng and Okafor). This is the week that the mighty finally falls.
Prediction: Gilford's string of good fortune comes to an end. Faison dominates.

Bernie Mac vs. Samuel L. Jackson
Man, Sam never gets a break in the schedule. Last week it was Potts, this week it's the 3-1 Bernie Mac. Both teams play this week with 33 games, but three of Jackson's games rely on a healthy Corey Maggette (who claims he will play today). Sam's team is finally hitting stride, but this is a game that on paper is very even. Maggette's uncertainty has to be accounted for.
Prediction: Bernie tops Jackson in the highest scoring game of the week.

Tony Potts vs. Will Ferrell
Potts is licking his wounds after his first defeat of the season, including an injury to Gerald Wallace at the tail end of the week. Even if he's healthy, Wallace would play two games this week, so Potts is keeping him benched. Ferrell is healthy and enjoys 35 games to Tony's 28. You do the math.
Prediction: Not close. Will Ferrell rebounds from a tough loss.

Bill Simmons vs. Spike Lee
Is Spike Lee ever going to win? Spike gets another tough match-up, and the Spike Watch continues. Spike's team has the least fantasy points this season. No one is even within 100 points of him. Bill Simmons exceeds Spike by about 550. The only way Spike wins is with a healthy game advantage. He doesn't have it. In fact, he's at a disadvantage.
Prediction: Maybe Week 6, Spike. Bill Simmons wins.

George Lopez vs. Adam McKay
Lopez exploded for 1,052 fantasy points last week, the most in the league by 100. In fact, he nearly doubled Adam McKay's total of 536.35 (the week's low). Perfect set-up for a 200-point spread, right?
Prediction: Right. McKay lost Arenas, which is brutal, and has yet to replace him in the lineup. Give Lopez 300-plus in this match-up.

James Denton vs. Kenny Smith
The battle of the week! Someone will come out of this match-up with two wins! Ok, we can't hype this game. Kenny goes in with a slight games advantage, including four games for LeBron James, Danny Granger and Lamar Odom.
Prediction: Give me Kenny. Just don't force me to watch it.

Get up, Gilford. You're in first!
