By Jon Loomer

I predicted three of six match-ups correctly last week. I incorrectly pegged Kenny Smith to top James Denton. Don't let that fool you. I did get this right:

Give me Kenny. Just don't force me to watch it.

There was only one team that scored fewer points than either Kenny or Denton last week (shame on you, Zach Gilford, who finished with two fewer points than James Denton). Kenny and Denton combined for under 1,400 fantasy points. To contrast, Adam McKay and George Lopez combined for more than 1,800. Zach. Buddy. You were in first place, undefeated, one week ago. You now have the seventh most points. Step it up!

What we have now is a scrum for the top. Four teams (Tony Potts, Donald Faison, Bill Simmons and the plummeting Gilford) share first place with a 4-1 record. George Lopez and Bernie Mac are a game back at 3-2. You can't count out Will Ferrell or Samuel L. Jackson, who follow at 2-3 (Denton is also 2-3, but I'm counting him out). Jackson, in particular, has surged with two consecutive wins against elite competition.

The NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League features several key match-ups that should separate the cream from the not-so-creamy in Week 6. Speaking of, Spike Lee still hasn't won a game. Will this be the week?

Tony Potts vs. Bernie Mac
Just when I'm ready to count out Tony Potts, he gets a big win over Will Ferrell. Bernie Mac is coming off a tough loss to Samuel L. Jackson and could use a win here, although the health of Carlos Boozer will be a determining factor. Both teams have 33 games this week, so on paper this match-up could go either way.
Prediction: Given the uncertainty of Boozer and the fact that Bernie has three games from Kobe and Camby, I have to roll with Potts here.

Donald Faison vs. Bill Simmons
This is the battle of the week, potentially determining lone possession of first place (if Potts and the over performing Gilford falter). Simmons is at full strength while Faison's only question mark is TJ Ford, who has missed some time due to an arm injury. Simmons, on the other hand, has only two games from Dwight Howard this week. Does he roll with Howard, or place Shaq at C and sub in Marvin Williams at UTL? Meanwhile, Faison has three games from Garnett and Carmelo Anthony.
Prediction: When in doubt, pick Bill Simmons.

Zach Gilford vs. George Lopez
We are stacked with big match-ups this week. This time, it's the 4-1 Gilford against the 3-2 Lopez -- the lucky (Gilford) vs. the unlucky (Lopez). George may trail four teams with two losses, but he actually leads the league in fantasy points. Much of that comes from his stars, Baron Davis and Caron Butler. Just imagine if Pau Gasol was playing up to par? This one may actually be close, given Gilford's four-game advantage.
Prediction: I can't do it. This is George's game to lose.

Samuel L. Jackson vs. James Denton
Don't look now, but Sam Jackson has mopped up some of the league's elite during the past two weeks. Given the big head-to-head match-ups between many of the league's top teams this week, a win over Denton could place Jackson right into the thick of the race. Unfortunately, he'll be without Tony Parker and Tim Duncan this week, as the Spurs have only two games (although Duncan may not have played regardless due to an injury). Does he have the depth to knock out a James Denton squad with a full 36 games?
Prediction: I've been picking against Sam religiously lately, so why stop now? Two game disadvantage and the loss of two of his top players this week will be too much. Denton gets lucky.

Will Ferrell vs. Adam McKay
Would love to be on set with Ferrell and McKay this week. Both teams are struggling with sub-.500 records. These teams will either be tied after this week or McKay will find himself in a much larger hole. Neither team is full strength when it comes to games played. McKay has two games from Rashard Lewis and Jermaine O'Neal (assuming he's healthy). Ferrell has two from Ginobili. No matter who wins, this is going to be ugly.
Prediction: You'll need a flashlight down there, McKay. Ferrell wins in a match-up that combines for about 1,000 fantasy points.

Kenny Smith vs. Spike Lee
It's the match-up Spike had circled on his calendar since week one. If he's going to win this season, this will be the week. The two teams with the least fantasy points. One victory between them. The drama. The anticipation. America will be watching!
Prediction: Spike Lee finally wins, thanks to LeBron James being at less than full strength.

Can Samuel L. Jackson make the leap?
