On the game
"It was a very gratifying win cause we got back to playing our brand of basketball was moving from side to side. I think we had 4 24 second violations from over-passing but I’ll take that. The pace was really good and we defended and rebounded really well so it was a really good win. In fact we were 39 27 on the rebounding and in the first quarter our 11 baskets were off of assists. Ball movement was great and we played with great focus and confidence and it looked a lot like what we’ve been working on through the course of the year. We were able to withstand whatever run they made."
On Winning in the Garden
"We’ve won here before, you know, so we want to win where ever we play, and the Boston Garden is always a tough place to play because they have a good team. So coming in and winning in the Garden, which is a special place in general is always gratifying. It’s like going to New York and playing in the Garden there. There are special places to play basketball, so when you get wins in those places, its more special because we know the fans here really know good basketball and really appreciate good basketball."
On tonight’s game showing depth of Grizzlies with Gasol not producing great numbers
"No, not at all it speaks to that we’re a good team and we don’t just count on those guys when we struggled and trying to pound the ball into them, Kevin Garnett is a good defensive player and he did a good job and Zach just didn’t have it tonight, but we went up for it and we got a win."
On Darrell Arthur
"He’s handling alright. He’s played well, I mean, I don’t know what to say he’s not howling the ball, he’s not coming off screens for jump shots or anything like that, and we’re not asking him to guard somebody that a really shake and bake kind of guy. We’re just keeping him in a limited role and he’s doing alright."
On the game
"You come back to a team that you won a championship with, could have been here. And there’s no greater feeling than coming back and getting that win. Like I said, it was just a regular game on the schedule, and I took it as a regular game on the schedule. Put all my feelings and emotions to the side, and came out here and did everything that Coach Lionel asked me to do.”
Had something there with fan behind the bench
"You know, I just didn’t understand why he was heckling me. I didn’t do anything wrong so I just told him to be cool, calm down and kept going. Before I turned around he’s gone."
What did you say to guys after the game
"You know there’s still going to be two of those guys, much love, I love them to death. That’s my family, like I said, it’s a brotherhood. Once I signed up for it, once I committed to it, you know, helping those guys get a championship everyday. From the training camps in Maine, to long seasons, getting the ring, raising the banner, the ring ceremony, all that. I just told them thanks for everything and good luck for the rest of the season."
Your offense seemed to flow
"Yeah, I think so. I mean last game you know we lost to Indiana and Coach had put a big emphasis on selfishness. Guys not like literally being selfish, just they making selfish plays. And guys came into practice yesterday, we ran a lot of offense, we executed, you know some guys wouldn’t even take the shot. You know in a normal shoot around, they kept passing, kept passing. Came to shoot around this morning the same way about them and came to the game with the same thing. So we made a big point of emphasis on moving the ball."
Will you take that mentality with you because you won tonight
"Most definitely, you know the feeling never lie. And that’s one thing that Coach has in his pocket. He always shows the film and he doesn’t try to be hard on us he just lets us know. When we go away from the things that got us in the good position, you know those losses get to add up man. We responded today and it was a big win in Boston."
