|The Atlanta Hawks Healthy Game Plan program led by Harry the Hawk is a high-energy school assembly that focuses on the “game plan” you need in life to maintain a healthy body, exercise your mind and do your part to maintain our beautiful earth!
Open to elementary schools in the metro Atlanta area (within 45 miles of Atlanta), the 30-minute program features Harry the Hawk, Atlanta Hawks Cheerleaders and Atlanta Hawks staff. The program is a get-on-your-feet show filled with fun examples and exciting visual aids that teach students these important concepts.

|In conjunction with the NBA's Read to Achieve platform, the Atlanta Hawks are excited to continue our Fast Break For Reading program. Fast Break for Reading is open to Georgia Elementary Schools and provides students Atlanta Hawks rewards for reading 1,000 minutes this school year.

|This program is designed to assist local schools with engaging students in the classroom. The Atlanta Hawks provide educational programs that allow teachers to reward students for their progress and that provide real life experiences to the material being learned in the classroom. In addition, the program offers avenues for the PTA to raise funds and deliver tools for principals to reward teachers and staff for their commitment to enriching the lives of the students. This program allows for mutually beneficial relationships that provides simple and effective programs for your students while introducing them and their families to the Atlanta Hawks.

|The Atlanta Hawks Poetry Slam Contest|
|In partnership with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Atlanta Hawks are hosting its annual poetry contest for high school students.
The contest provides a platform for youth to let their voices be heard on various issues affecting them and the world. This year’s theme is Non-Discrimination, Acceptance and Respect for Others: Why It Matters to You.
Students should submit their written poems or a DVD of your performance for the chance to win an iPad, laptop computer or tablet notebook along with Hawks autographed merchandise. The contest tips off February 10, 2014 and runs through March 14, 2014.
|Atlanta Hawks Foundation Partners with Georgia State University on Scholarship Program|
|The Atlanta Hawks Foundation has awarded a five-year, $50,000 grant to Georgia State University (GSU) freshman who have demonstrated a commitment to education and community service. Reflecting the passion that the National Basketball Association and its players have for giving back to the communities that support them, the Atlanta Hawks Foundation Scholarship Program will help incoming first-year, full-time GSU students from Georgia. Online applications are accepted December 17, 2012 – March 15, 2013.|
