In The Community

Warriors Host Math Hoops Live

Warriors Community Foundation in conjunction with Learn Fresh, hosted Math Hoops Live for 40 Bay Area students at Hoover Middle School in San Francisco. Students from Junipero Serra Elementary and Laurel Dell Elementary, led by instructors, competed against each other in an on-court version of NBA Math Hoops. Former Warriors Players Kelenna Azubuike and WNBA players Ruthie Bolton and Jennifer Azzi attended and each represent a team. The court is set up like the NBA Math Hoops game board. Numbers were placed on each side of the court, and the students on each side completed math problems on an oversized shot planner. The game functioned exactly like the board game, except instead of using player cards, Kelenna and Ruthie took the shots and Jennifer helped each team complete their math problems.
